Space for contemporary circus
The Zirkusquartier is Zurich’s production, performance, training, and learning center for contemporary circus and the home of the Zirkus Chnopf.
With its diverse program of shows, workshops, and courses, Zirkusquartier invites visitors of all ages to explore the many facets of circus and get involved themselves. It also offers a wide range of opportunities and resources for professional circus artists.
The Zirkusquartier is a vibrant meeting place for children, teenagers, and adults; for professionals and hobbyists; for visitors and circus artists; and, above all, for the local community. It offers a welcoming space to learn, train, perform, and connect.
Founded in 2016 by Zirkus Chnopf, the Zirkusquartier continues to serve as the company’s creative home, where new productions are developed and rehearsed.
10 Years of Zirkusquartier
We’re celebrating our anniversary—with shows, DJs, and a festive circus night full of surprises!
The Zirkusquartier was established in 2016 as the winter home of the Zirkus Chnopf, and over the past 10 years it has evolved into a centre for contemporary circus with a wide range of offerings.
Let’s celebrate at the Nuit du Cirque! There will be two circus shows, drinks from the bar, and wraps from Zirkus Chnopf. On Saturday night, DJ sets ranging from baile to techno will make the Güterbahnhof shake, and circus surprises—from burlesque to clownesque, from spectacular to sentimental—will make the night shine.

interr_options
The physical theater solo interr_options is a performance of rhythmic play without words. A headstrong character discovers the most banal and wildest timbres. In a musical way, the piece addresses the irritating and fragile moment of stumbling. With subtle mischief, the audience is invited to breathe a sigh of relief and discover the possibilities that open up by interrupting the previous flow. The crucial thing is to start vibrating, to go beyond the edge of the stage. New things happen every time that can influence the course of events. Interr_options is part of the Moving Rhythms project, in which Eva Krause works at the interface of body percussion and dance. Movement becomes audible, sound becomes visible. Through the possibilities of physical theater, poetry and comedy are obvious. A piece with body percussion, dance and slapstick, for all age groups.

Eva Krause
Eva Krause (*1998) grew up in Stuttgart and studied dance at the TIP in Freiburg after graduating from high school. During a trip to Guinea (Conakry), she immersed herself in rhythm and djembé playing. In 2022, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Physical Theater at the Accademia Dimitri. Since then, she has lived and worked as a freelance actress and dancer in Fribourg. In September 2024, she debuted with her solo piece interr_options . The piece is part of her project Moving Rhythms, in which she works at the interface of body percussion and dance.
Audience information
Price: You decide your price! You can choose between the solidarity price (CHF 35.00), the regular price (CHF 25.00) and the budget price (CHF 15.00). Payment in cash or twint.
Children: Children up to the age of 5 do not pay admission.
Free choice of seats: Please arrive 10 minutes in advance, even with a reservation. There is free seating for all three ticket prices.
Bar service: The bar is open one hour before and after the show.
