Space for contemporary circus
The Zirkusquartier is Zurich’s production, performance, training and learning center for contemporary circus and home to the Zirkus Chnopf.
The varied program of shows, workshops and courses invites you to experience and learn about circus in all its facets.
Zirkusquartier also offers numerous opportunities for professional circus artists.
Zirkusquartier is a meeting place for children, teenagers and adults, for professionals and amateurs, for visitors and artists – and not least for the local population. The Zirkusquartier offers space to learn, train, watch and meet.
The Zirkusquartier was founded in 2016 by the Zirkus Chnopfwhich rehearses its new creations here.

Circus moments: from large circus festivals to small tryouts, you can experience a variety of shows in the Zirkusquartier.
Workshops
Our regular workshops with renowned Artists offer the perfect opportunity to get to know different circus disciplines.
Courses
Learn a wide variety of acrobatic disciplines in our weekly courses or come along to our open training sessions!
Internship Cultural Management 50 %
The Zirkusquartier Zurich is offering a 50% cultural management internship from June 8, 2026 or by arrangement.
Would you like to work in a growing cultural institution and contribute your own ideas to this extraordinary place?
We offer you an exciting time with lots of variety, interesting shows, a great team and new experiences. You are independent, curious, open-minded and take on various tasks with a high sense of responsibility. Open Call: Wagenvarieté 2026
On Nov. 28-29 and Dec. 5-6 the Wagenvarieté will take place again!
Would you like to perform your art in the smallest of spaces, in a circus wagon, right in the heart of Zurich? Then apply now for the Wagenvarieté 2026! From artistry to physical theater, cabaret and music, everything is welcome.
Conditions
– The contribution must be 15 minutes long
– Your contribution can be realized on an area of 2x2x2 meters
– Your contribution is without or with little language
– Solos and duos are preferred (for larger groups, please contact us in advance)
Application
– Tell us what you would like to do, how it fits into a circus wagon and for which audience your contribution is suitable (approx. 1 A4 page)
– Write something about yourself and everyone involved
– Send us pictures or video material of your previous work
