Miss SBarbie
Once upon a time there was a plastic body. Maybe two, maybe ten, maybe a hundred… Or maybe a hundred and one! There is Morgana. And there are the Barbies: her friends, her doubles, her audience, her enemies, her superpowers… There’s Franchina, the automatic car… And of course there’s Ken. observe what surrounds us, analyze it and then free ourselves from it, welcome external input to create ourselves, exploring all possibilities, even and especially the ones denied!
A little punk, a little political and full of energy, the show takes all bodies, human or plastic ones, in a universe that comes to life, changes and makes change whoever encounters it, taking and giving something… It is work on the body, play and power that focuses on the re-appropriation of a symbol, that of Barbie – the first doll with an adult body in the hands of a little girl – which has imprisoned the female imagination with its aesthetic canon but which is also a symbol of liberation for the imagination.
