Work-in-Progress: (In)dependencies

(In)dependencies explores how we can be there for each other in a complex world. On and with a movable metal structure, four artists explore how balance, support and shared failure create new connections.

Four different personalities meet and overcome common and individual challenges. They explore how they can live their individuality while supporting each other and growing as a community. It’s about finding the balance between different worlds – learning together, falling over, having fun and moving on.
With (ab)dependances, the four want to create a contemporary circus piece: dynamic, inviting, raw, personal, humorous and full of life – a stage work that touches the audience through its aesthetics and humanity.

We are four artists from Austria, Germany and Switzerland who combine our individual circus disciplines – flying pole, dance trapeze, aerial ring and handstand. The idea for our collective came about while we were studying and living together at Fontys Circus in Tilburg. In numerous conversations over coffee and tea, we decided to work together. Living together for so long made us particularly aware of how we communicate, coexist and care for each other. This led to our first project, “(Dependencies)”, in which we explore the complexity of human connections and relationships – to ourselves and to others.
