Air is all or nothing. It is our source of life – invisible, often unnoticed and yet essential. One breath is all it takes to enter life. But what happens when air is missing? When we have to find ways to produce it in order to survive?
Zirkus Chnopf explores these questions through imagery, music, encounters, acrobatics, and dance. In their search for freedom and community, they swing their way through the poetic space between the ground and the air.
For UFE, they’ve explored the environment, crises, and the longing for lightness, and they’ll take you on a journey through challenges and poetic moments. The performance invites you to rediscover air as both a living space and a metaphor, and to experience how, much like on a swing, individual bodies can come together to create a shared breath…
The performances take place at Koch Park regardless of the weather—the venue is covered.

Zirkus Chnopf
Zirkus Chnopf is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting young talent in the fields of acrobatics and physical theater. To this end, it goes on tour annually with the open-air spectacle of the same name and works closely with the production and performance venue Zirkusquartier Zürich, where the touring company is based.
Der Zirkus Chnopf verbindet Welten. Theater, Tanz, Artistik und Musik treffen aufeinander. Junge und erfahrene Menschen mit unterschiedlichem Hintergrund arbeiten zusammen. Die jährlichen Produktionen bestechen durch Humor und durch eine technisch und künstlerisch innovative Umsetzung.
