Balance workshop

In this three-hour workshop, we will explore the diversity of object balancing. Balancing objects on the body, balancing the body on objects, balancing objects on other objects – and everything in between.

There are also various inputs on working with balance on stage. These can also be transferred to other circus disciplines. You are welcome to bring props for other disciplines (trapeze, tightrope, handstand, ….).

Josef Stiller

Josef Stiller is a 2019 graduate of the Academy for Circus and Performance Art (ACaPA), Tilburg (NL). He took his first steps as a professional artist at the “Etage – Schule für die darstellenden Künste” in Berlin (2014-15).
In his solo work, Josef works with bamboo sticks and explores the possibilities of balancing as well as releasing and catching very small but also very long sticks.
In addition to collaborating with Moritz Grenz (since 2019) and Julian Vogel (since 2017) in KLUB GIRKO, he is involved in various artistic projects and has also been realizing solo works since 2017.

General information

• Registration by link, e-mail or telephone is binding.
• The course fee must be paid by invoice, which you will receive from us by e-mail.
• If registration is withdrawn up to 10 days before the workshop, 50% of the course fee will be charged. In the event of later withdrawal, the full costs are to be borne by the participant.
• The right to participate in the booked workshop is personal and non-transferable. Lessons not attended do not entitle the participant to a reduction in course fees, unless the workshop is explicitly advertised as modular.
• Insurance is the responsibility of the participants. An emergency contact must be given when registering.
• If there are not enough participants, the workshop cannot usually take place. The registered participants will be informed by e-mail about a possible cancellation.
• Participants must adhere to the house rules of the Zirkusquartier. The instructions of the staff must be followed.
