ROPE-NETWORKING, WHICH TURNS THE ORDER UPSIDE DOWN
The UMKIPPEN project arose from the desire to create a contemporary circus piece based on space. The room consists of a rolling and tilting steel structure and a bag that holds 200 kg of wood chips, as well as hanging points and pulleys that allow things to be hung at different heights and create connections. Three performers act with these objects and with each other. The audience is arranged 360° around the stage and is an integral factor in the interactions between objects and performers.
In a different constellation, we have already tested the space for 4 weeks as part of the award-winning stage design diploma project KIPPEN at the ZHdK
Zurich and presented 3 showings. With UMKIPPEN we are launching a new production. After a first week of research, we would like to share our initial experiences and exchange ideas with you.
