The Truth…?

In a world where the truth is often hard to discern and reality is obscured by many different opinions, The Truth …? attempts to show the absurdity of this situation. This show is a fascinating exploration of how complicated and varied the truth can be.

On their comfortably furnished stage, the protagonists begin a discussion about their desire to reshape the world. Changing things seems so simple, so close at hand. But one big problem disrupts their philosophical conversation: which of them gets to sit in the armchair? This fundamental question pulls the two protagonists into a maelstrom of movements that make them fight, love, err and help each other.

Why so much fuss about an armchair, you may ask?

Because the one who takes this place can bring the truth to light. The truth, this one and only truth. The universal truth, the solution to all existential and general questions of life. Between dictatorial speeches, jokes, acrobatic interludes and attempts to argue with common sense, the publication of the truth becomes a convoluted journey that never comes to a clear end.

The Truth…? is a start-up co-production from Zirkusquartier Zurich and celebrates its premiere on March 1.

With this start-up co-production, Zirkusquartier is supporting up-and-coming circus and physical theater artists in the production of their first full-length show.

Notre Duo

Notre Duo is a Swiss circus duo consisting of Victor Goyette and Marius Cavin. They met at Fontys Circus, where they studied together for four years. They began working together in 2021. In 2022, they were nominated for the Jaques de Leeuwe Prize and received the Makershuis Tilburg Research Prize. 2023 they won a grant from “Migros Sparx” for young artists. In 2023 they participated in the play “Paradis?” by Kunos Circus Theaters, FLUX Crew and MEA Circus. Now, in 2024/25, they are creating “The Truth…?”, their first piece as a duo.

Public information

Price: You decide your price! You can choose between the solidarity price (CHF 35.00), the regular price (CHF 25.00) and the budget price (CHF 15.00). There is free seating for all three ticket prices. Children up to the age of 5 do not pay admission. Payment in cash or twint.

Reservations: Reserved tickets must be picked up 15 minutes before the start of the show, otherwise they will be released. Even with a reservation there is free choice of seats.

Bar service: The bar is open one hour before and after the show.
