Duration: 10:00 - 17:00
Age: From 18 years
Level: Open Level

Past dates:

A transformative workshop that leads from decolonial body training and urban improvisation to applied theater. A journey to reclaim the body as a sovereign territory of resistance and creativity.

The workshop combines movement, dance and physical theater with political reflections, especially on decolonial practices. Participants are invited to move beyond mechanical productivity and Eurocentric perspectives and discover a movement that has soul, history and purpose.

Target group: Open to artists, activists and anyone interested in decolonial movements and social transformation. No prior knowledge is required – just a desire to connect and explore.

Structure: The workshop follows the cycle of seeing, learning and doing:

  • SEE: Decolonial body training to root ourselves and awaken somatic awareness, honoring life energy through conscious movement.
  • LEARN: Transmodern movement merging urban styles and Afro-Caribbean rhythms.
  • DO: applied physical theater and creative pedagogy. We use the body as a map of conflict to test social solutions and transform scarcity and vulnerability into a poetic and political weapon of resilience.

Bring along: Comfortable clothes, a notebook and an open heart.

Workshop-leadership

Zorybel Garcia & Luis Enano Bogado

Zorybel Garcia & Luis Enano Bogado founded a transdisciplinary collective in 2013. Both completed their Master of Arts in Physical Theater at the Accademia Dimitri 2023. Working in Switzerland since 2010, they combine artistic research with social commitment. As directors of a foundation in Venezuela, they initiate and accompany festivals in crisis contexts and develop a pedagogical system that brings knowledge passed down through generations, urban cultures and physical theater into dialogue with each other.

In her work, the body becomes a space of political agency, viewed from a decolonial and transmodern perspective. Dance and circus merge into a poetic language of resistance.
