With the stage production SAMAR, Rigolo explores the in-between worlds – the area between dream and reality, between the known and the unknown.
The piece shows the artists’ journey as they move between heaven and earth, always balancing, always searching. The danced story tells of the longing to understand this elusive dimension.
Like the last Rigolo productions, SAMAR is interdisciplinary. The four artists perform contemporary dance and aerial acrobatics with acting elements. In the rope installations, the dancers move weightlessly. Floating and swinging, they explore the world of being in-between.
Transparent fabrics, floating platforms and light installations create an atmosphere that immerses the dancers in a diffuse, constantly changing environment. The visual poetry is accompanied by specially composed music.

Rigolo Dance Theater
Rigolo can look back on a long and interesting history. Since 1978, the founders, Mädir Eugster and Lena Roth, have been performing on stages around the world with a wide variety of productions ranging from street theater, dance and object theater to Nouveau Cirque productions. Today, the second generation has taken over the reins and all three daughters produce their own projects in various fields under the name Rigolo. They have all remained true to the playful, mystical Rigolo style.
