Homemade Iscream open-heartedly addresses everyday problems in catchy, socially critical songs. They play with their hands and feet on homemade instruments—drum machines made from scrap metal, a guitar fashioned from an oil can, and analog synthesizers—all performed live by just the two of them. A sound that hovers somewhere between rusty synth-pop, indie energy, and danceable melancholy.
The DIY band rumbles, stumbles, and booms—and it’s a real joy to watch: a spectacle for the ears, the eyes, and the soul.

Homemade Iscream
The paths of Donath Weyeneth from Basel and Maria Demandt from Amsterdam crossed on stage in 2017 during a dance theater performance. There, they claimed to be a band—and shortly thereafter, they actually became one: HOMEMADE ISCREAM. Formed in the tiniest studio in an industrial area, nestled between a welding shop and railroad tracks, they build some of their instruments themselves and create a raw, danceable sound.
Their debut EP, *Disconnected*, was released in 2020, followed by their first album, *LIKE AN OCTOPUS*, in 2025 . They’ve played over 50 concerts throughout Switzerland and in neighboring countries.
