Zora Eichenberger takes unicycling, acrobatic dance, and clowning, turns them upside down, and shakes them until they dissolve. Stories flow together in made-up languages, and the unraveled yarn becomes the common thread. She takes the audience on a journey.

Lost in my thoughts, I sank into the mud and emerged in a new world where there is only …

I don’t see anything

I am trapped—in my thoughts. It dissolves, and something new emerges. Different.

New

I could say it’s much bigger, but really it’s just more spread out
Maybe more organized

The unraveled yarn of thoughts — my common thread

Free, as if I were putting on a red nose and completely letting go of all my insecurities. Free to tell stories in made-up languages.

The “Artist in Focus ” program provides a platform for circus artists at the beginning of their careers. Following a residency at the Zirkusquartier, the artists present a work-in-progress as part of the festival program.

Zora Eichenberger

Ever since she was a child, Zora has loved being active—whether climbing or riding a unicycle. She gained her first circus experience at the Zirkusquartier, among other places, where she discovered her passion for the circus with the Zirkus Chnopf and went on tour in 2018.

After attending the École de cirque de Lausanne, she specialized in unicycling at the École nationale de cirque and formed both a unicycle duo and a clown duo with Fred.

In 2024, she co-founded the collective Coup de Corps , with which she presented her first production at La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines. In addition to circus, Zora works on various artistic projects: picture books, writing, painting, video, and photography.
