Aerial Composition: Hoop, Trapeze & Vertical Rope
This two-day workshop is aimed at people with an intermediate to advanced level in aerial techniques who would like to deepen their knowledge. The aim is to expand your vocabulary on the apparatus and to develop your own movement language through improvisation.
We work on body awareness both in the air and on the ground and explore basic motor skills and articulation. At the beginning, the focus is on technical fundamentals to create an understanding of basic movement principles and to ensure safe and conscious execution of advanced tricks. There is the opportunity to specialize in one apparatus, as well as apply creative elements of improvisation and creation on different apparatus. There is also the opportunity to learn advanced tricks such as spirals, balancing techniques and drops.
– Day 1: Technical basics and expansion of technical vocabulary.
– Day 2: Research and experimentation through improvisation.
The workshop is for anyone with previous aerial experience, but does not require an advanced technical level. The aim is to expand your existing technical vocabulary and apply it creatively.
If you already have a well-founded knowledge of an aerial technique such as trapeze, vertical rope or hoop and would like to try out other techniques, the workshop offers you the freedom to explore tricks and movements from the other disciplines
This workshop is taught in English.
Julio Adrian Yanes Melendrez

Marc Bosch
Marc discovered his passion for music and theater at an early age and found a space that was free of prejudice. After studying biology and neuroscience, he came across the world of circus in 2014 – a revelation that changed his career path. He completed professional circus training at the Rogelio Rivel School, graduating in 2022 with a specialization in trapeze and trampoline.
He has participated in various projects including Gender at the Festival Circ d’Ara Mateix (Spain, 2021), Combinat de Circ at Ateneu de Nou Barris (Spain, 2022), Happy! at Cronopis Mataró (Spain, 2022), Un Ballo in Maschera at the Teatre de Liceu de Barcelona (Spain, 2023) and Le Cours des Choses with Zirkus Chnopf (Switzerland, 2024).
He recently joined Sputniks Company for Project K, which combines multidisciplinary art in public space. He is also developing a new performance entitled Escorça, to be premiered in 2025. Marc’s artistic vision integrates circus, physical theater and music, focusing on the exploration of objects, circus techniques and site-specific sets.
Micaela Castrillo Vargas
She became interested in circus at the age of 16, but her passion fully ignited at 18. In 2018 she moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a year later she began studying at Fontys Circus and Performance Art in the Netherlands. In 2023, she graduated with a specialization in vertical rope. Although she is passionate about various disciplines, she recently developed a strong interest in physical theater, humor and clowning.
In 2023, she founded the group Insurgentes together with a Mexican friend. Together, they explore Latin American culture and explore themes such as identity and belonging despite physical distance. Their piece La Cosecha was performed at the Circlo festival in the Netherlands at the end of 2023. The duo is still working on the piece and has completed residencies in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain. She is also a member of the interdisciplinary Berlin collective Melancolía. She finds great joy in collaborative projects and became part of the Zirkus Chnopf ensemble in 2024.
