Während fünf Tagen vereint das Festival ZirQus die Vielfalt des Zeitgenössischen Zirkus im Zirkusquartier mitten in Zürich. Das breite Programm an Shows und Workshops bietet Zirkus zum Bestaunen, Ausprobieren und Entdecken. Bar, Essen, Konzerte und zirzensisches Rahmenprogramm laden zum Verweilen ein – Komm vorbei, zelebriere mit uns die Diversität der künstlerischen Ausdrucksformen, das gemeinsame Erlebnis und geniesse die entspannte Atmosphäre am Güterbahnhof!
Am Mittwoch eröffnet die Cie La Lune Bleue das Festival mit Jusque Là und lässt mit Luftakrobatik, Tanz, Theater und Livemusik unter freiem Himmel Kindheitsträume wahr werden. Am Abend breitet die Compagnie Trottvoir für die Premiere von FLÄZEN eine grosse Liegefläche aus Matratzen für das Publikum aus und befragt die politische Dimension des Nichtstuns. Das Mittwoch-Programm bietet besonders viel zu entdecken für Familien, Kinder und alle, die ihrem inneren Kind Raum geben möchten.
Am Mittwoch und Donnerstag bringt Julian Vogel mit Ceramic Circus seinen ganz eigenen Zirkus auf die Bühne: endloser Trommelwirbel, ein Fahrrad, dass jeder Gewohnheit spottet und ein Mensch auf Rollschuhen, der nach Gleichgewicht sucht. Anschliessend an die spektakuläre Show findet erstmals ein Offenes Training während dem Festival statt: Laien wie Profis sind dazu eingeladen den Abend bei Training und Austausch ausklingen zu lassen.
Die Late Night am Freitag bietet nach dem gemeinsamen Festival Dinner, mit dem Format Artist in Focus gleich zwei Newcomern die Bühne: Alma Gruber und Mano Vos. Danach lädt das Stück SHOOTING SNOW WHITE in einer radikalen One-Woman-Solo-Performance dazu ein, alte Märchen, modern zu interpretieren und damit kritisch und witzig aktuelle Werte zu hinterfragen.
Das dichte Programm am Samstag und Sonntag bietet mit Workshops, Freilichtspektakel wie Bühnenstücken ein Zirkus-Erlebniss für die ganze Familie! Unter freiem Himmel erzählt das Collectif TBTF in Pasterne eine tanzakrobatische Fabel ohne Worte, voller Subtilität und Sanftheit. Auf der ZQ-Bühne zieht die weltberühmte Compagnia Baccalà das Publikum mit Pss Pss voller atemberaubender Akrobatik und poetischen Missgeschicken in ihren Bann. Am Samstag spielt The Rich Man‘s Kitchen Orchestra bei unseren Nachbarn der Galotti Musikwerkstatt ein fulminantes Konzert mit äusserst tanzbarer Musik. Am Sonntag feiern wir mit dem Circ-Exchange für Profis und Shows im Innen und Aussenraum gemeinsam den Abschluss des Festivals ZirQus 2025. Komm vorbei und lass dich vom Zirkus-Fieber mitreissen!

A spectacle unfolds to the beat of the drum roll. A bicycle that defies habit. A glitter hit on roller skates. Plates dancing on the finest rods. In the midst of this sensory overload, the calm of a spinning ceramic ball. The unnoticed becomes monumental, the fragile becomes strong. Pure, simple, clear and yet daring and luminous. With Ceramic Circus, Julian Vogel creates his own circus and makes the audience forget all expectations.

FLÄZEN
Compagnie Trottvoir
In FLÄZEN, the audience lies down on a large mattress bed in the middle of the city. In this space of peace, community and intimacy, an auditory and performative reflection on the political dimension of doing nothing takes place. FLÄZEN is a co-production of Zirkusquartier and celebrates its premiere at the ZirQus festival.

A physical theater performance and a f*cking modern fairytale: In this one-woman solo performance, Anna Lisa Grebe embodies the various characters of the fairy tale “Snow White” and also stereotypes, behaviors and clichés. Through exaggeration and the presentation of her own physical and mental nakedness on stage, she radically exposes the absurdity of a patriarchal system in which we still live. Always with a smile on her lips, she invites us on a journey into the glass coffins.

Alma Gruber: Artist in Focus
Alma Gruber would love to turn the world upside down, but that’s not possible. So she turns herself inside out. Like an almost empty soap bottle. Up is down, inside is outside – and as a soap bubble it flies free.
The Artist in Focus format offers a platform to circus performers at the start of their career.

Mano Vos wears his Cyr Wheel – not the other way around. He seeks a balance between tension and letting go. Movement is at the center of the creation as he explores the fine line between control and surrender. The Artist in Focus format offers a platform to circus artists at the beginning of their career.

ZIRKUS-WORKSHOPS
Erkunde verschiedene Zirkusdisziplinen!
Während des Festivals laden wir dich ein, Zirkus selbst auszuprobieren. Schnuppere rein in verschiedene Disziplinen wie Jonglage, Balance oder Luftartistik und trainiere gemeinsam mit anderen im Offenen Training. Erfahrene Trainer:innen begleiten dich dabei, Neues zu entdecken und deinen eigenen Zirkus-Stil zu finden oder deine Fähigkeiten zu vertiefen. Es gibt Angebote fu?r Kinder, Jugendliche, Erwachsene – und fu?r alle gemeinsam.

The shows and workshops are based on hat collection. This means that you set your own price. Payment in cash or twint.

The shows and workshops work without reservation, first come first served!
Food & drink
The bar opens together with the festival site. There will be chips, ice cream and a festival menu in the evening.
There is no obligation to consume: you can also bring your own picnic.
Festival Dinner
You can register online or on site at the bar for the Festival Dinner on September 5.

All people are welcome at the ZirQus festival. The festival site is wheelchair accessible. Contemporary circus usually works without language. All shows are based on hat collection, which means you decide your ticket price.
