Work-in-Progress: GULF OF ADDISON
Gulf of Addison is a non-verbal open-air piece – between performance, artistry and choreographic sculpture. Two performers move in an open metal structure and use body, gesture and movement to negotiate themes such as assertion, power, visibility and cultural coding. The piece works with reduction, repetition and physical precision. What emerges is a space of intermediate states – between pop and pose, structure and trash, control and chaos. The aesthetic friction becomes the motor for thinking about culture: not as a discourse, but as a form.

The title refers to the “Gulf of Mexico” – renamed the “Gulf of America” by Trump – and to the TikTok character Addison Rae: two symbols of cultural assertion. The “Gulf of Addison” thus stands for the gap between image and meaning, staging and reality – for the space in which culture is created.
