Work-in-Progress: Absurd Gazon (Absurd Lawns)
Two women, a rectangle of artificial lawn, a sound running in the background. They settle down, stand up, watch each other as if waiting for something. But what is it? The boredom expands, transforms into mechanical movements, an obsession that becomes choreography. They play without knowing why, without knowing whether the game has begun or whether it will ever end. On this too green lawn, in this false game, with these false certainties.
The artists of Cie Slop play with the codes of sport and the stage to tell of the human urge to control in the face of the uncontrollable. This performance is a reflection on the everyday life in which we move. A rigid system dictated by rules that sometimes slip away from us. Like these players, we cling to reassuring frames, even when logic collapses.
Why do we keep playing? Perhaps because it would be even more absurd to stop playing.

Cie Slop (CH / FR)

Cie Slop is driven by Zèa Mathez and Orane Berger. Zèa already had a duo that split up after the first stages of work on the piece, as her colleague went on tour with a traditional circus. Zèa immediately thought of Orane to take over the role. Since early 2025, the two have been working together to rewrite the play Absurd Gazon and are determined to send the fake grass traveling after its life on the rugby pitch.
