Spring Fever
In the context of a concert dance, in which our bodies become the instruments that internalize the score and make it sound, a fascinating question arises: can a “Spring Offering” be brought to life without sound?
We have chosen to explore Stravinsky’s legendary work without focusing on the sacrificial theme, instead choosing a direct approach to the great composition through notes and music. We form a physical choreography based on the score and immerse ourselves completely in this extraordinary musical creation. Immersion in this experience evokes feelings of spring, but at the same time the need to surrender completely can cause both deep anxiety and feverish dreams. During an evening of dance, we focus on what happens when we dare to look deeply, to accept closeness and intimacy.
In the context of a concert dance, in which our bodies become the instruments that internalize the score and make it sound, a fascinating question arises: can a “spring offering” be brought to life without sound? Since 2015, Philipp Egli has been exploring the dance approach by conceiving choreographies as actual concerts. In his event series “KonzerTanz”, the way we look at dance approaches the experience of listening to a concert, with the body as a central element in this performance.
