In the Intermediate floor acrobatics course you will learn and deepen various acrobatic elements depending on your personal level.
The course content includes the following points:
- Try out different ways of warming up, stretching/stretching
- Flick flack, rollover, free wheel, head tilt, etc.
- Learning a repertoire of dance acrobatic elements and how to use them playfully
- Get to know the basic handstand technique with different ascents and positions
- Learning to use your own body as sparingly and organically as possible
Prerequisite: You should have experience in floor acrobatics and have a good command of the basics. The floor acro basics course on Tuesday at 17:30 and Wednesday at 19:15 is suitable for beginners.
Clothing: Comfortable sportswear. In the winter months we recommend long training clothes for before and after the course.
Ulla Tikka
After graduating from high school in Finland, Ulla Tikka trained as a tightrope walker in Paris and Berlin (graduating in 2000). She has performed worldwide with various contemporary circus companies (including Cirkus Cirkör and Les Colporteurs) and then increasingly satisfied her artistic urge with her own productions.
She is currently on the road with her Cie Roikkuva and several productions. Parallel to her stage work, she works as a lecturer in acrobatics and tightrope walking. In recent years, she has also repeatedly taken on challenges as a choreographer and director (e.g. Zirkus Chnopf, Circus Monti, Fahraway).
Luisa Schmitz
Luisa Schmitz was born in Zurich and works as a dancer, choreographer, coach and dance teacher. She completed her bachelor’s degree in stage dance and choreography at the Fontys Hoogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg (NL). She spent two years on the road as an artist with Zirkus Chnopf and has been teaching circus and movement to children and teenagers ever since. She teaches children the art of circus in an encouraging and motivating way. When she is not teaching, she tours Europe with her own clown duo or walks through the woods of Zurich with her dog.

Individual lessons cannot be booked. Entry during the current session is possible at any time if capacity is available. The price will be adjusted accordingly.
Course information
General
- The course takes place once a week (except during school vacations and public holidays)
- Course duration: 90 minutes
- Start: February 24 (from the end of the 2026 sports vacations)
- End: July 7 (until the start of summer vacation 2026), 18 lessons in total
Trial lessons:
- Please book online.
- The first lesson from the date of booking is always a trial lesson and costs CHF 20.
- A final decision on the booking can then be made: The registration or deregistration for the entire course session must reach us by e-mail (kontakt@zirkusquartier.ch) three days after the trial lesson.
- If you book and confirm the appointment, the trial lesson will be charged even if you do not attend.
Access:
- It is always possible to join the course during the current session if capacity is available.
- Simply book online, the first lesson is a trial lesson.
- You will only be charged from the definitive start date after the trial lesson.
