This course is aimed at children aged 8-10 years and is the follow-up course to the “Circus Durch-Starter” course. It is not necessary to attend the preliminary course to participate.
We discover the possibilities of our bodies in a playful and age-appropriate way and train dexterity, body tension, flexibility and strength. This allows us to venture into increasingly complex movement sequences. We do somersaults and headstands, do cartwheels, balance, build human pyramids, practise handstands and much more. Together we deepen our work on various circus disciplines. The focus is on having fun and enjoying exercise and working on your coordination and dexterity.
Clothing: Comfortable sportswear. Turntäppeli or barefoot. In the winter months we recommend long training clothes for before and after the course. Children with long hair should have a hair tie with them.
Maja Ravaioli
Originally a sports enthusiast, Maja Ravaioli discovered the joy of movement and skill at the age of ten. She started out with a unicycle and juggling balls, then began doing cartwheels, standing on her hands and became enthusiastic about partner acrobatics. Since her student days at the University of Zurich, she has regularly attended various open training sessions and is constantly learning new things in many courses and in exchange with other circus enthusiasts.
Maja Ravaioli has been teaching juggling/unicycling since 2009, initially only juggling/unicycling and later also handstand/partner acrobatics for students at the ASVZ (Academic Sports Association Zurich).
From 2010 to 2022, she taught acrobatics, unicycling and juggling at the Marotte circus school. She has also been offering workshops at juggling and acrobatics conventions for many years. She has been running children’s courses at Zirkusquartier Zurich since 2018.

Course information
- The course takes place once a week (except during school vacations and public holidays)
- Course duration: 60 minutes
- Start: August 18, 25 (from the end of the 2025 school summer vacation)
- End: February 2, 26 (until the start of the 2026 school sports vacations), 19 lessons in total
Trial lessons:
- Please book online.
- The first lesson from the date of booking is always a trial lesson and costs CHF 20.
- A final decision on the booking can then be made: The registration or deregistration for the entire course session must reach us by e-mail (kontakt@zirkusquartier.ch) three days after the trial lesson.
- If you book and confirm the appointment, the trial lesson will be charged even if you do not attend.

- We offer a 5 franc discount per lesson on the second course booked.
Access:
- It is always possible to join the course during the current session if capacity is available.
- Simply book online, the first lesson is a trial lesson.
- You will only be charged from the definitive start date after the trial lesson.
Individual lessons
- Individual lessons cannot be booked.
- However, it is possible to join at any time during the session if capacity is available. See above.

- Zirkusquartier is a member of Versa, the association for the prevention of sexual exploitation of children in sport.
