The “Shorzz” program put together by SPOT Sion, Zirkusquartier Zurich and Bühne Aarau features three Swiss circus newcomers and their short pieces. “Nexus” (Compagnie24) by Isaline Hugonnet and Yu-Yin Lin combines diabolo with ball juggling. It plays with the metaphor of a juggling duo as a representation of human interaction. In “RU”, Bastien Alvarez (Compagnie Cie CABAC) explores the experience of displacement at the interface of circus, song and text: a character goes about her daily life until an external force turns everything upside down. In an acrobatic duet, the duo GingerMoustache humorously explore the playground of human movement in “Ossol” with high risk and lots of balancing acts.
Program
“Nexus” from
Compagnie24
For all ages, 20 minutes, without language

“Nexus” explores circular space, deconstruction and the fusion between diabolo and balls. A performance that illustrates a reflection on human relationships through juggling. The rhythm and different juggling styles naturally suggest a series of sensitive connections. The underlying idea is that every relationship is based on a form of juggling – a fragile balance in which the smallest unexpected event can change everything.
Companie24
Artists: Isaline Hugonnet and Yu-yin Lin
The duo focuses on exploring the fusion of juggling objects as well as the need to be in pairs to juggle multiple combinations of balls, diabolos and the bodies of the two performers. Yu-yin and Isaline met in Finland in 2018 and joined the National Center for Circus Arts (CNAC) in 2020. The duo was formed during their training at CNAC. Thanks to their multicultural backgrounds, they strive to share their respective cultures and emphasize the connection between Asia and Europe.
“RU” by Cie CABAC
From 7 years, 20 minutes, language: EN / SP / FR

Cie CABAC’s new creation deals with the exodus – the moment when everything changes. What remains of us when we leave our homeland, whether out of necessity or by choice? What ties to it remain despite the distance? How do we survive the turmoil, preserve the hope of a return and defend what is ours? At the interface between circus, song and text, “RU” explores the experience of being uprooted.
Companie Cie CABAC
Artist: Bastien Alvarez
Cie CABAC is a contemporary circus company based in Valais, whose creations explore and question social relationships and current issues facing our communities. Poetry, song and glitter are always part of their projects, because without joy there is no struggle and without beauty there is no success.
“Ossol” by Duo GingerMoustache
From 6 years, 15 minutes, without language

“Ossol” is an acrobatic duet in which strength meets delicacy. There are no big acrobatic numbers here, but rather a sensitive exploration of movement in which every gesture counts. Originating from a restriction, the duo developed new, playful, flowing and intimate lifting figures. Between balance and suspension, Ossol invites you to a timeless moment in which the connection between two bodies becomes poetry.
Companie Duo GingerMoustache
Artists: Sophie Nusbaumer & Calou Rais
Ginger because of her hair color, Moustache because of his beard… and because “Duo GingerMoustache” sounds better than “GingerBeard”! Calou Rais and Sophie Nusbaumer are originally from the Swiss Jura and specialize in hand-to-hand acrobatics and icarian games. Together they form the duo GingerMoustache. They discovered circus arts at the age of 5 and 7 at Circosphère in Delémont. They both graduated from ACaPA in the Netherlands in 2021 and have been developing their own shows ever since
