Immersion between earth and sky: Barzakh is an upcoming creation merging aerial and contemporary dance with digital art. The project marks the first artistic collaboration between Swiss artist L\u00e9a Thomen and Moroccan artist Wajdi Gagui, brought together through a shared desire to create a space between two worlds \u2014 two cultures, two countries, and two ways of being. Rooted in a contemporary context that both connects and divides, Barzakh <\/em>interrogates a fundamental question: Who do we want to become together? Motivated by the challenges of integration and embracing differences as strengths, the artists search for a delicate balance between reality and imagination. Through suspended bodies and poetic imagery, the piece moves between gravity and weightlessness, autobiography and fiction. For this first showing, the focus lies solely on the physical and poetic language of aerial movement \u2014 a distilled glimpse into the research process. The digital art elements will be developed and integrated in future residencies. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

HorizonVertical <\/em>(CH)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HorizonVertical<\/em> is a contemporary dance-theatre company based in Thurgau, Switzerland, founded by French choreographer and interdisciplinary artist L\u00e9a Thomen. The company\u2019s work explores the intersection of contemporary art forms such as aerial dance, poetry, visual arts, and live music, creating immersive and interactive environments that reflect L\u00e9a\u2019s multidisciplinary vision and foster meaningful sensory encounters between performers and audiences. HorizonVertical <\/em>has been recognized for its innovative approach, receiving the F\u00f6rderpreis Choreografie<\/em> from TanzPlan Ost<\/em> and the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Suisse des Auteurs<\/em> in 2018 for the piece Nachtfeder.<\/em> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Col’jam <\/em>promotes art and cultural diversity in Morocco, making artistic expression accessible to all. The company highlights contemporary dance in dialogue with street arts, visual and graphic arts, and music. It supports creation, training, and the dissemination of artistic work, fostering experimentation and professional development. Col’jam<\/em> also leads educational and social projects in collaboration with Moroccan and international cultural partners. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
