Why don’t you sleep at night?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The performers Lia Sch\u00e4dler, Mayra Bosshard and Marquis’ McGee immerse themselves in a restless night – accompanied by their own heartbeat as a soundtrack. In a precise dialog between movement and soundscape, the trio addresses the restlessness of thoughts, the loneliness before falling asleep and the feeling of a frozen inability to act. They help each other to fall asleep and yet prevent each other from doing so. Gentle saxophone sounds and restless background noise flow seamlessly into one another and the heartbeat echoes as a soundtrack to the waking night. Almost unbearable and with a poetic wink, they allow themes such as mental health, connectedness and anxiety to collide and celebrate a quiet reconciliation with insomnia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note:<\/strong>In the performance of Why don’t you sleep at night<\/em>, an intense soundscape is used (e.g. crackling, squeaking, humming, startling). The stage also depicts metaphorical vomiting and suffocation as well as stylized organs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Landholz Productions is a Basel-based collective founded in 2018. They stand for collective working structures and individual artistic development, embedded in a support system. They work together and alone, help each other in production processes, support each other emotionally, exchange ideas about long-planned projects and spontaneous experiments, cook for each other during final rehearsals, and accompany each other in artistic questions.
