This course is aimed at school children aged 6-8 years and is the follow-up course to the “Circus Starter” course. It is not necessary to attend the preliminary course to participate. <\/p>\n\n

We get off to a playful start and develop strength, coordination and agility in an age-appropriate way. We consolidate the basic acrobatic figures on the floor – rolls, wheels, headstands, handstands, pyramids. From time to time, we also try jumping on the trampoline and swinging in the air on the aerial silk. <\/p>\n\n

The joy of movement and creativity in doing things together are just as important as the precise teaching of the basics. The children refine their self-awareness and strengthen their self-confidence: the best preparation for any further art of movement! <\/p>\n\n

Clothing:<\/strong> Comfortable sportswear. Turnt\u00e4ppeli or barefoot. In the winter months, we recommend long training clothes for before and after the course. Children with long hair should have a hair tie with them. <\/p>\n\n

Luisa Schmitz was born in Zurich and works as a dancer, choreographer, coach and dance teacher. She completed her bachelor’s degree in stage dance and choreography at the Fontys Hoogeschool voor de Kunsten<\/em> in Tilburg (NL). She spent two years on the road as an artist with Zirkus Chnopf<\/em> and has been teaching circus and movement to children and teenagers ever since. She teaches children the art of circus in an encouraging and motivating way. When she is not teaching, she tours Europe with her own clown duo or walks through the woods of Zurich with her dog. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Matteo loves discovering new things. His curiosity led him to Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany) in the summer of 2023, where he completed further training as a circus educator at the Jojo Center. It was there that his passion for aesthetic space was sparked: how can we use our bodies in relation to space and time to tell stories that move people? Matteo was previously a multiple Swiss junior volleyball champion, studied economics – and was involved as an activist for a better world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

  • The course takes place once a week (except during school vacations and public holidays)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Course duration: 60 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Start: August 18, 25 (from the end of the 2025 school summer vacation) <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • End: February 2, 26 (until the start of the 2026 school sports vacations), 19 lessons in total<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Trial lessons<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Please book online. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The first lesson from the date of booking is always a trial lesson and costs CHF 20.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • A final decision on the booking can then be made: The registration or deregistration for the entire course session must reach us by e-mail (kontakt@zirkusquartier.ch) three days after the trial lesson. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • If you book and confirm the appointment, the trial lesson will be charged even if you do not attend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
