How to manage the speed of progress. What relationships emerge between two people who don’t know whether they’re being forced to walk or what they’re going through and no longer know where they themselves end and the other person begins. How do you untie the knots that are created and how do you deal with the constantly accelerating forward movement?
La Boule is a continuous forward movement in which nothing seems to be fixed. Like a “tumbleweed” – a ball of dried grass rolling across the ground – that has lost its way in the Wild West.
Cie La Boule: Liam Lelarge et Kim Marro (FR)
Kim is a wheel-cyrist and Liam a trapeze artist, but there will be neither in this show. We have bodies and physical capacities linked to our respective disciplines, and that’s what guides us in our search for movements for La Boule. We move and carry ourselves according to the ergonomics, power, weaknesses and curves of our bodies, which are shaped by another practice, and we want to assemble them in a common energy. Each of our artistic universes is free of artifice, and we work with the pure matter that has animated us since we began the circus. We both start from a common base, with the same level of seniority in this research, because we began La Boule together.
