Zirkuszwergli (2.5-4 years)

Together we want to play, explore the fairytale world of the circus, let off steam and transform ourselves into animals, learn tricks and above all: have lots of fun!

You’ll need comfortable clothes that you can move around in and a bottle of water. You should also have your mom and/or dad with you, as they will be taking part. They may simply accompany you during the lessons or lend a hand to the course leader if help is needed at a course post.

Clothing: Comfortable sportswear. Gym shoes or barefoot. In the winter months we recommend long training clothes for before and after the course. Children with long hair should have a hair tie with them.

Luisa Schmitz

Luisa Schmitz was born in Zurich and works as a dancer, choreographer, coach and dance teacher. She completed her bachelor’s degree in stage dance and choreography at the Fontys Hoogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg (NL). For the past two years, she has been on the road as a performer with Circus Chnopf and has been teaching circus and movement to children and young people ever since. She teaches children the art of circus in an encouraging and motivating way. When she is not teaching, she tours Europe with her own clown duo or walks through the forests of Zurich with her dog.

General information

• Course information: The course takes place once a week (except during school vacations and public holidays) and lasts 45 minutes.
• Start of the course: August 19 (from the end of the 2024 school summer vacation)
• Course duration: 19 lessons until February 3 (start of the 2025 sports vacations)
• Course-free dates Monday: 2.9. (festival week in the circus quarter) / 9.9. (Knabenschiessen) / 7.10. & 14.10.(fall vacations) / 23.12. & 30.12. (Christmas vacation)
• Entry: It is always possible to join the course during the current session if there is free capacity. Just book online.
• First time bookings: The first From the booking date, the first lesson is always a taster lesson and costs CHF 20. Then you can make a decision about continuation. Registration or de-registration for the whole session must be confirmed by email within three days of the taster lesson. (kontakt@zirkusquartier.ch) After that, the course is booked.
• Taster lesson: See new visitors section.
• Individual lessons cannot be booked, only the whole session from the start date. The invoice will be adjusted accordingly.
• Discounts: LEGI & KULTURLEGI. For children’s courses, we also accept LEGI and KULTURLEGI from parents. We give a 5 franc discount per lesson on the second course booked.
• Course confirmations will be sent on request.
• Zirkusquartier is a member of Versa, the association for the prevention of sexual exploitation of children in sport.
