Basic acrobatic experience
This course is aimed at children aged 8-10 years and is the follow-up course to the “Zirkus Durch-Starter” course. It is not necessary to attend the preliminary course to participate.
We discover the possibilities of our bodies in a playful and age-appropriate way and train dexterity, body tension, flexibility and strength. This allows us to venture into increasingly complex movement sequences. We do somersaults and headstands, do cartwheels, balance, build human pyramids, practise handstands and much more. Together we deepen our work on various circus disciplines. The focus is on having fun and enjoying movement and working on coordination and personal dexterity.
Clothing: Comfortable sportswear. Gym shoes or barefoot. In the winter months we recommend long training clothes for before and after the course. Children with long hair should have a hair tie with them.
Luisa Schmitz
Luisa Schmitz was born in Zurich and works as a dancer, choreographer, coach and dance teacher. She completed her bachelor’s degree in stage dance and choreography at the Fontys Hoogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg (NL). For the last two years, she has been on the road with the Chnopf circus as an artist and has been teaching circus and movement to children and young people ever since. She teaches children the art of circus in an encouraging and motivating way. When she’s not teaching, she tours Europe with her own clown duo or walks her dog through the forests of Zurich.
Sophia Bühler
Sophia discovered her passion for the circus as a child.
To this day, circus is her great hobby and is associated with a great deal of joy and passion.
She attended many different circus training courses, completed theater pedagogy training in Zurich and a year of circus pedagogy training in Fribourg.
In 2022, she decided to get a taste of circus for a year at “Cirque Intense”.
There she specialized in the trapeze and swung through the air.
In addition to her own projects with children and young people, she is now an enthusiastic circus trainer.
General information
- Online booking open from January 27 at 10 am.
- Course information: The course takes place once a week (except during school vacations and public holidays) and lasts 60 minutes.
- Start of the course: February 26 (from the end of the 2025 sports vacations)
- Course duration: 18 lessons until July 9 (until the start of summer vacation 2025)
- Course-free dates Wednesday:
- April 23 & 30 (spring break)
- Entry: It is always possible to join the course during the current session if there is free space. Just book online.
- New bookers: The first lesson from the date of booking is always a trial lesson and costs CHF 20, after which a final decision can be made on the booking. Registration or de-registration for the whole session must be confirmed by email within three days of the trial lesson. (kontakt@zirkusquartier.ch) The course is then considered booked.
- Trial lesson: See the point on new visitors.
- Individual lessons cannot be booked, only the whole session from the start date. The invoice will be adjusted accordingly.
- Discounts: LEGI & KULTURLEGI. We also accept LEGI and KULTURLEGI from parents for children’s courses. We give a 5 franc discount per lesson on the second course booked.
- Course confirmations will be sent on request.
- Zirkusquartier is a member of Versa, the association for the prevention of sexual exploitation of children in sport.
