Aerial silk basics

With a lot of creativity, technique, fun and safety, dancing is learned at height. After an extensive warm-up to get your whole body strong and flexible, we move on to the aerial silk. Beginners are familiarized with various climbing techniques and first figures.

Prerequisite is enjoyment of movement, no previous knowledge necessary.

Clothing: Cotton leggings, short and long sleeve shirt. In the winter months we recommend long training clothes for before and after the course.

Caro Wuttke

Caro Wuttke is a contemporary circus artist, performer and
trainer based in Zurich. She studied contemporary circus at
Cirko Vertigo (IT) and Flic Scuola di Circo (IT), where she specialized
in the discipline of vertical rope. Prior to this, Caro completed a
Bachelor in “Literature-Art-Media” at the University of Konstanz
(DE).
In her work, on and off stage, Caro is always looking for the
opportunity to create intimate spaces. In addition to her work as an
artist in the independent scene, Caro works at Zirkusquartier Zurich
as a concept designer for the “Circ-Exchange” format. She has worked for several
years as a circus teacher at the Marotte children’s circus school (CH)
and has been teaching at Zirkusquartier Zurich since 2023.

General information

• Online booking open from January 27 at 10 am.
• Course information: The course takes place once a week (except during school vacations and public holidays) and lasts 75 minutes.
• Start of the course: February 25 (from the end of the 2025 sports vacations)
• Course duration: 18 lessons until July 8 (until the start of summer vacation 2025)
• Course-free dates Tuesday:
  • April 22 & 29 (spring break)
• Entry: It is always possible to join the course during the current session if there is free space. Just book online.
• New bookers: The first lesson from the date of booking is always a trial lesson and costs CHF 20, after which a final decision can be made on the booking. Registration or de-registration for the whole session must be confirmed by email within three days of the trial lesson. (kontakt@zirkusquartier.ch) The course is then considered booked.
• Trial lesson: See the point on new visitors.
• Individual lessons cannot be booked, only the whole session from the start date. The invoice will be adjusted accordingly.
• Discounts: LEGI & KULTURLEGI. We also accept LEGI and KULTURLEGI from parents for children’s courses. We give a 5 franc discount per lesson on the second course booked.
