When balance is precarious, bodies change the way they move, and when space is limited, options for action are restricted.
On a one square meter platform, two people experiment with imbalance, the relationship to emptiness and falling. Confronted with the presence and proximity of the other, they sometimes move in unison, sometimes separate or even oppose each other. Their fear of heights leads them to carry each other, to support each other in their leaps backwards. Paraplate is an exploration of a new piece of sports equipment, a wooden platform that is pulled by two intersecting ropes and hovers two meters above the ground.
This space of literal precarity invites us to reflect on the concepts of limitation and freedom. How do you share an already limited space with others? How do you find your place and your own freedom despite the restrictions?
Paraplate is not only a physical challenge, but also a reflection on interdependence, the fragile harmony between bodies and the vertigo of falling.

Duo d’1m2
Cassandre Schopfer and Nina Sugnaux met at the circus school in Lausanne-Renens in 2017 and then followed the same path until they graduated from the CNAC in December 2023.
They share the same desires, the same values and are used to not being far apart: A strong bond has developed between their two bodies, and this performance is the continuation of it. They share a preference for precise choreographic writing and dance movement and place particular importance on the development of their aesthetics.
